Our Story

7 Pines was born after the birth of our twins Jaxon and Elliana whose entrance to the world at 34 weeks opened our eyes to how limiting clothes shopping can be. On the face of it there seems to be an endless plethora of places to shop, of designs to coo over and fabrics to run your fingers through. But when your child is born with special needs the parameters shift and you are left feeling on the edges of all the excitement. Suddenly the boundaries of what you can choose become much narrower, and in some cases non-existent.

For Elliana we desperately needed adaptive clothing for the many tubes, sticky pads and wires that were helping her to start her journey in this world whilst in the NICU. Born with Down Syndrome her requirements were numerous and it was a learning curve for us all to provide the care that she needed. We playfully nicknamed little Jaxon our ‘hot mess’ when at two months old we started to notice dry scaly patches on his skin which were irritated by clothing tags and seams and led to an eczema diagnosis. For him we needed sensitive materials, soft fabrics - nonallergenic options and let’s be honest boy’s get the short end of the stick when it comes to cute designs. So, here we had our two latest arrivals - both with their own sets of needs and both already stealing our hearts.

After scouring social media groups, online portals and generally researching with the vigor of a forensic scientist I discovered that the options were really limited for beautiful inclusive clothing. So many parents were simply cutting holes in their rompers, making do, and just accepting that they were left out of this wonderful part of their parenting journey because options were just not available to them. So I decided that this was not okay, and that I was going to disrupt the status quo.

7 Pines sets out to readdress the balance. Our range is fully inclusive regardless of your baby or child’s circumstances. You can put your scissors away, there’s no need to be cutting holes. Our designs combine functionality with style and ensure that durability and sustainability are at the heart of what we do. Sensory children will love our seamless designs, scratchy tags are banned and our flat stitching means that there’s nothing to irritate even the most sensitive of skins. Our adaptive range means that you can throw those hospital gowns away, you can choose a whole collection of innovatively designed rompers and two pieces that will accommodate any medical equipment that your child needs. Made in organic cotton and buttery soft bamboo our clothes are ethically sourced, sustainably made and exclusively designed by us here in Arizona. The extended range includes blankets, head bands, hats and accessories.

Our children bring us the greatest joy, all seven of them are unique with their own story. And so are yours. We see you, you are important, and so is your journey.
