Meet Trey
Meet Trey! Trey is 2 years old and has been diagnosed with Esophageal Atresia with Tracheoesophageal Fistula.
Trey was born with Type B (one of the rarer types) of EA-TEF. He was born unable to swallow meaning his trachea and esophagus did not form or separate correctly. His esophagus was not connected to his stomach but was still connected to his trachea, forming a proximal fistula to his lungs.
His mom says, Treys greatest strengths are his resilience, willfulness, and maintaining his infectious smile throughout his 20+ procedures and surgeries in his short 2 years on his road to repair.
Trey's favorite colors are yellow, purple, red and green. His absolute favorite animal is a monkey, he loves picking flowers or pretending his squigz are flowers and having everyone smell them. Trey loves all music and loves to dance to his favorite movies Sing and Sing 2.
Trey loves to get messy and paint! For this submission paint was placed in a canvas inside a ziplock bag and Trey spread the paint with his hands (and feet). He chose his favorite colors and a way he went! Out of the darkness (the black) comes the light (all the beautiful colors) with purple being the final color on top, the color for EA-TEF awareness.
His mom also wants us to know that Trey is their hero!
